Back to my original question, now updated, I've just been introduced to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Nearby which lists articles near your current location and https://tools.wmflabs.org/wikishootme/ which can show you articles near places your are planning to visit. From the thumbnails it is fairly obvious whether it has an image or not. Has anyone tried using these in outreach to photographers?
