Dear Douglas,

The Board is calling for volunteers who wish to be considered for appointments
by the Board. NomCom’s primary role is to find candidates for elections or
appointments by the AFRINIC membership or community. Appointments by the Board
are entirely the Board’s responsibility, not a NomCom responsibility.

(i) The AFRINIC appoint 3 representative on the NRO NC/ ASO NC, 2 are elected
by the community where the NomCom lead the process and one is appointed by the
AFRINIC Board. The announcement is related to the Board appointment, not the
membership or the community appointments.

(ii) The AFRINIC Government Committee (GC) is composed of 5 members, 3 are
elected by the community where the NomCom lead the process and 2 appointed by
the AFRINIC. The announcement is related to AFRINIC Board appointment not the
membership or the community.

Best Regards,
Christian D. Bope, Ph.D
Chair, AfriINIC Board of Directors
