Nothing in his statement claims IP addresses are property. Nothing in Cloud Innovation’s law suit claims that, either. IP addresses are integers. Owning “5” makes no more sense than owning a letter or even a single common word. On the other hand, owning the right(s) to a registry entry detailing a block of IP Addresses is a different matter. Registry entries (registrations) are a kind of tangible property, are routinely traded (even in the AFRINIC region which has the most restrictive policy of all RIRs in this regard), and have a value set by an active market. > Les ressources sont mises à la disposition des entités sur la base des > besoins qu'il a exprimé, selon le RSA s'il a menti sur ces déclarations, ou > n'a pas respecté les clauses du RSA, Afrinic peut réclamer ces ressouces sans > aucun préjudice, c'est écrit dans le RSA et les membres signent. Needs change and I challenge any service provider that has been in business for 8 years or more to show that they are 100% using their resources in the exact same manner across all resources issued for that entire period of time. The internet is a dynamic place and markets dictate what services do and do not sell. This makes need a dynamic and shifting thing. Cloud Innovation filed appropriate documentation of these changes and kept their utilization within the bounds of policy as written. Nothing in policy prohibits leasing addresses independent of connectivity services. If the community wishes to prohibit this, then they should develop policy which does so. > J'invite Afrinic à bien préparer sa contre offensive. I invite AFRINIC to read its own policy documents carefully, develop a sane conclusion, and bring a reasonable offer to the table in pursuit of a settlement so that this insane process can end with minimal further damage. I find the amount of damage done to the community and the membership in this unnecessary process to be completely disgusting and I thoroughly hope that the community will choose to hold the board accountable for their misdeeds in this regard. > > À bon entendeur salut Google translates this as “Good to know hi”, which I suspect is far from accurate. As such, I have no idea what was intended here, but I will wish you a good day as well. (That is my best guess).
