I picked this point below enumerate by Taiwo as the major pillar of the
problems that AfriNIC is spiraling into. Immediately, I observed
attempts of foisting leadership on people especially with the case of
forcing the appointment of Co-Chairs down out throats, I definitely knew
that we are in for a long, rough and unwinding journey.
I also suspect the reasons for some of the actions taken by the
Leadership of AfriNIC to make unpalatable changes to the AC and PDWG
was all planned. This has started manifesting with hurried passage of
policies, refusal to entertain appeals and now seizures of IPs of
members under the guise of gross misuse.
All this not withstanding we need to come back to the basics of
correcting the structure of the leadership of AfriNIC and handling its
affairs. As all time members must be treated fairly and equitably.
Outside this, we have not yet seen the worse of times.

a joke - , there have been several recent cases of power abuse, which have
completely violated the PDP's governing documents and its bottom-up process.
Mid-appeals, there were consecutive questionable resignations of two members of
the appeal committee, which were followed by the board's decision to suspend
the appeals and then revoke the existing Appeal Committee Terms of Reference
for replacement, which has resulted in the unprecedented and recent dissolution
of the appeal committee.
