Dear AFRINIC Community, Greetings from the South-Based RIRs Legitimacy Project! We are an academic research project based at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. The project studies attitudes toward AFRINIC, APNIC and LACNIC: how people's views vary and why. The findings can provide important suggestions for the RIRs' future development. Soon, we will be sending out invitations to a sample of community participants to do an interview with us. During the past days, project researchers Gloria Nzeka and Hortense Jongen have had the pleasure of meeting various AFRINIC community members at AIS'22 and informing them about the study. We would like to take this opportunity to inform the entire AFRINIC community about the research project. Please be assured that the project is entirely independent academic research. It is funded by the Swedish Research Council, a public body with no political affiliation or commercial interest. Nous sommes membres d'un projet de recherche académique basé à l'Université de Göteborg en Suède. Ce projet est une enquête sur les attitudes envers AFRINIC, APNIC et LACNIC. L'objectif est de comprendre comment et pourquoi les perceptions des gens divergent à l'égard des RIRs. Les résultats peuvent fournir des recommandations importantes pour le futur développement des RIRs.
