Hi all, I am a lurker from way back when I was trying to get JServ up and running with Apache (still running a site today). I watched jon, Pier, and Stefano build up the BEST java open source community bar-none. I am now a committer on jakarta-alexandria and jakarta-commons.
I believe that the discussion on reorg@ has been a productive one. IMHO the major issue has been vocabulary, mostly around the term PMC, and I think we are getting a handle on that now. I do believe that Apache as a whole needs a change, and I do think that the commons and incubator proposals, along with a proper graveyard proposal are a good thing for the future of Apache. I live in the Bay Area, CA, USA, and work on Apache code because I like to. So far, all of the issues that I have with the ASF are being addressed, and I think that this is a very productive discussion. I hold all of the people here at Apache in the highest esteem, regardless of membership. Thanks, -- Scott Sanders - [EMAIL PROTECTED]
