I am not sure that this type of project is the right sort of thing for ASF wide attention and support. Research projects such as this are valuable playgrounds - but do not map to operational systems or components with a wider use. What may be the case is that we need a set of shared playgrounds, even simpler than the incubator, research@, whatever. But then again - the aim of those would be research, playground, getting to gether the 2,3 or 4 people who -at that point in time- would have some sort of common interest. Which is a far cry from the general gaol of the ASF; where we try to give projects livetimes, and non-abating interest/work, beyond those the livetimes of volunteers. Another option, for the now, would be to dummp it into committer@ - and the committer CVS - and establish that as a fun playground. And have that as our play area or 'common's.
