This is just another reminder that there exists a list that some of you may not be aware of. It's one of the few apache lists that has zero technical content while enjoying a100% social aspect.
- The list is normally restricted to committers of any/all apache projects. - It's a private list and is not archived (AFAIK) - The intent is to provide a place where people can arrange meeting up in the (gasp) real world for get togethers. The aim of the list's creation was to further a desire for members of communities within the ASF to spend more time meeting each other. Often mailing lists, wiki, irc, whatever other medium you wish to include, suffers from a barrier of language, one that can often be removed through having met the person involved and gaining a better unseratdning of that person's character. Such real world meetings have proved popular and beneficial and so one late night, in a desolate car park (don't ask) in downtown Chicago Will Rowe persuauded me to suggest the list be created. It now has a large number of subscribers spread all over the world. It's been used for discussions of many get togethers and around the time of the ApacheCon it tends to be busier than ever. Don't be fooled into thinking that it's only useful at the Con! far from it :) So, to subscribe, send your name, address and credit card number... :) Or just subscribe in the normal way using [EMAIL PROTECTED] Last one at the bar buys the drinks! david --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
