Jean-Michel, I can see folks at Makina-Corpus have put a lot of thought into this. My inclination is to think a proper/consistent/"best practice"/agile integration of JS client-side mapping (in this case OL) in a system like Plone is not that easy. Just to chime in on a use case : I have a dev server on an intranet that I can't use a Google Key on (because it's not "pingable" from the internet). Being able to switch to a base map configuration without digging too far down in the stack would be a great bonus. I don't know if that's the type of thing that you are targeting, but I thought I'd mention the case anyhow. Thank you for your efforts.
