A grizzled Python and GIS veteran assures me that we'll get lots of ESRI-specific geoprocessing questions unless we're very clear that they are off-topic. While my own agenda is to get developers to talk and get some cross- project fertilization, I agree with you that the list should answer "How do I get started?" questions. Ideally, we'd produce an FAQ as we go and refer people to it.
