Yes, Rtree 0.6 can bulk load. It is called "stream loading". Start reading here for details how to use it <http://trac.gispython.org/lab/browser/Rtree/trunk/tests/index.txt#L236>. You did not reply to my questioning your assertion that the Rtree package requires axis boundary values.
