While there isn't a large risk of interference, there's still some, just on the basis of general radiative "noise". Most airlines allow GPS receievers in-flight (except during take-offs and landings, when no electronic devices are allowed to be on); not all do, however.
Good luck explaining why it isn't a concern to Joe Random Flight-Attendant, should the subject come up; I predict you won't win that debate. Carrier requirements generally state that "flight mode" should disable _all_ radios, period, by the way. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of Koen Kooi Sent: Mon 11/27/2006 10:59 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Airplane Mode -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Bob Pluss schreef: > Hello All, > > I've been following this thread since the beginning and am very excited > about the release of the Neo1973. > > Will there be an "airplane mode" on this phone? How can a passive *receiver* interfere with the on board electronics? I can't think of one, and I'm a EE major :) regards, Koen -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (Darwin) iD8DBQFFazWbMkyGM64RGpERAq57AKC3D+edCNCRqMKBwdXWJ4xpNdd7JQCgjTzE I6qDEETQtOpojLRPqS4Nhzg= =aPgt -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ OpenMoko community mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/community _______________________________________________ OpenMoko community mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/community
