Found this nice little project:

5 volts at 100ma (i.e. for usb memory sticks / card reader) out of 2
normal AA / AAA batteries.
It's even possible to use their PCB design, just need to replace the
resistors on the D lines with
a mini USB cable and plug it into the Neo1973.
Now the big question: Are there any usb wifi sticks out there that
can work with ~100ma?
