Oh sheesh, give the developers a break. A chance of that is about nil for the first model at this point, and that, to me, sounds a lot like salt when it's rubbed into the wounds of bad luck with improvements and timetables. > I think that not having a camera is a "serious" technologic setback > and loses some points to the competition. Loses "some" points, sure. A serious setback with a lot of point loss? More doubtful. Sure, there's a group that likes their camera phones, but it's not really _that_ big a deal for a lot of people, and for those who like their pics not very fuzzy, there's handy dedicated cameras (many of which would probably interface with the Moko nicely; as such cameras have their own internal powersources, if their software isn't confused by not getting power from the USB port, some might work with a straight USB cable for eg. sending the pics away via GPRS). We as a community just need to create cool enough applications to minimize the people for whom it's a dealbreaker, until such time that hopefully there will be several OpenMoko phones to choose from, some with *sigh* the camera bit. Maybe I'd even buy one; it _would_ enable barcode scanner apps :] -- Mikko Rauhala - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - <URL:http://www.iki.fi/mjr/> Transhumanist - WTA member - <URL:http://www.transhumanism.org/> Singularitarian - SIAI supporter - <URL:http://www.singinst.org/> _______________________________________________ OpenMoko community mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
