If the emails from the gmail account was sent to more than just the list, that might be the problem, right?
I mean, if the message could not be delivered to some of the email addresses, the server will retransmit the mail until it get delivered (max time of 4 days) This is just an idea but if this was correct, a workaround for the bug is extremely simple. Just send to the list, not cc, bcc nor add more emails in the "to"-field.
