I agree that they have a different motivation, but I do think they can be useful to our community. What we need to do is try to get them to hack OpenMoko onto proprietary phones. It will not only get them looking at and improving our software, but I think it would be funny to see people start to put OpenMoko on their iphone, etc. It would also be of benefit to them because they will have a shorter path to a useful hacked phone and can just concentrate on the true hacking part.
