Even if the list does no spam filtering (or not sufficent enough), you can process your own.... I filtered the last superstar&others mails with no annoyance. ;)
IMHO, the true issue remains the bandwidth usage and the server load.... it is up to the openmoko admins to decide if spam is really annoying or not.
