i followed > http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/USB_Networking and it works well. two things are important: - make sure nat'ing works (iptables -A POSTROUTING -t nat -j MASQUERADE -s 192.168.0.0/24) - bear in mind that /etc/resolv.conf of the om does not necessarily allow name resolution. it contains only 192.168.0.200 as nameserver which usually will not work. add the ip of your router (if it does name resolution) or any other nameserver (from your host's resolv.conf) and remember that every reboot of the om resets the resolv.conf
