Dont forget that wifi drivers in general are HIGHLY inaccurate with regards to signal strength and any other figure you care to name. The mad-wifi drivers on linux used to give wildly varying figures from version to version on the same laptop a couple of years ago as an example. Also have a look at what many windows drivers report ...
