The Mozilla Calendar application "Sunbird" (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird/) does the job very well. You can as well use the corresponding Add-On for Thunderbird called Lightning (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/lightning/). Both are avaiable for a wide range of operating systems ...
