I really like this idea. If some event happens (such as a received SMS, missed call, etc), use the accelerometers to see if the phone is moved for some number of seconds afterward. If not, then configure them to wake the phone the next time it is moved before going into suspend. When movement wakes it up, notify the user to check for a missed event (turn on display/blink LED/vibrate/whatever).
