I have this problem sometimes too. It sometimes help to suspend/resume until it starts working. I think it's this bug: http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/2328 As pointed out by Timo Jyrinki, we might need some sleep after touchscreen if powered up. Any kernel dev knows what to try?
