The QtMoko behaviour seems more like a bug than a manifestation of #1024. 
Since you don't get as far as entering the PIN it won't try to register.

deep-sleep-check.py will show if you suffer from the bug at the time tested, 
but it is temperature dependent so test it when the phone is warm.
