From what only I know, since 2009, graphic subsystem got x2 speedup (or x1.5 without 2-4-2), lost ability to WSOD on rotation, and overall system response increased greatly due to removing debugging and all major distros. Try some recent distro, like qtmoko v26 and you'll debrick you device.
