Yes, it is worth being enabled if your phone has been fixed. If I remember correctly there was a hardware bug that would not allow to go the modem to deep sleep (to save energy), instead of sleeping it oscillated between being awake and sleeping or something like that. I think it was bug #1024, and needs to be fixed by soldering a resistor somewhere onto the board. If it has been fixed on your phone, enable the option.
