Hi Chris,

Most of the white papers that circulate, or at least it seems, are published by 
vendors. Therefore, they /sometimes/ serve the marketing message better than 
actual research data. FWIW, I have made it a practice to send folks to 
Opencast's Resource Exchange, which, I find, has some great research docs:

enough to speak at one of our events about why he choose to record his 
lectures–for archival purposes, and to extend the awareness of the types of 
professor who teach at Columbia schools:
