Thanks to some very generous sponsors, lunch will be provided at a nearby restaurant for both days of the conference. However, we must give them a final count by January 20th. So if you are planning to attend the unconference, please register by January 20, or let me know if you are planning to register.

Also, there are a number of sessions already posted at http://unconference.opencast.org/program/sessions/proposed. Please go and vote for your favorites. Is something missing? Step up and propose to lead either a 1 hour session or 10-minute lightning talk on a topic that interests you!

Looking forward to seeing many of you in Oxford!

Hello all,

Welcome to the New Year! I'm pleased to announce the opening of registration and a new website to support the unconference - http://unconference.opencast.org. On this site, you will be able to officially register for the unconference, and together we can plan an agenda full of inspiring, productive and visionary sessions.

If you are planning to attend the unconference, please visit the registration page and complete the steps for the registration process: http://unconference.opencast.org/registration.

Once you have created an account and registered to attend, take a look at the Sessions list, and vote for sessions you'd like to be sure happen. Don't see something you'd like to be covered? Propose a session yourself! Consider ideas generated on this list (http://opencast.jira.com/wiki/display/MH/Suggested+Topics), and sign up to lead one of these sessions by proposing it on http://unconference.opencast.org.

Sessions are generally 50 minutes to an hour, and can be a presentation, roundtable discussion (birds of a feather), workshop, users helping users -- whatever format works best for your topic. As you propose sessions, feel free to select a timeslot and room, so that we can build the schedule together (the planning committee may juggle things around as needed).

Also consider signing up for these special sessions:

*Lightning Talks:* Have an interesting new Matterhorn feature or project you're working on locally? Have a new idea for a dream feature? Sign up to give a 10-minute lightning talk to share your ideas with the group!
http://unconference.opencast.org/lightning-talks

*Vendor Showcase:* Have a Matterhorn service or product to share? Sign up to give a 15-minute presentation during the Vendor Showcase!

Looking forward to seeing many of you in Oxford!
