Hey Everyone,

We've long overdue for the next Meetup for the Higher Ed Video User Group so I
have one ready to go for us on

Wednesday, Oct 24th at 1:00 PM ET Location is next door to where we normally
meet. Building 9 Room 152 (9-152 - Ford Room - http://whereis.mit.edu/?go=9)

There has been some interest expressed on technologies that are being used out
in the Higher Ed space, so we will be having two products companies present for
us to open us some ideas and discussions.

The first presentation will be from 3PlayMedia.com<http://3PlayMedia.com>. Josh
and CJ from 3Play Media will cover the basics of captioning for accessible
online video, including accessibility laws, best practices for creating
captions, and the impact of HTML5 and emerging standards. They will also
demonstrate how captioning can be used to engage users with new interactive
video experiences.

The second presentation will be from Andy at Ensemble Video. Ensemble Video
takes the work out of having to manage the flow of digital content yourself, by
providing a simple and straightforward platform to enable cost‐effective
publishing, sharing and streaming of media‐on-demand content. With a few
clicks of a mouse, users can upload, catalogue, and publish rich media content
to websites or digital signage, without requiring assistance from IT.
Individual departments and users can manage their own video libraries and
easily share content with others. Ensemble easily integrates with media
servers, and has the capability to automatically import video files stored on a
media server and is available as either a Hosted or Self Hosted Solution.

Hope to see you all there.

Thanks, Kris
