hey y'all (as Aresh would say),

the 3 Bronx community gardens have gotten a temporary restraining order vs.
the city, and there will now be a day in court (Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at
8:30 a.m., Room 442, in the Courthouse at 60 Center Street in Manhattan, if
you would like to come) to hear the case of these gardens that we've been
fighting so hard and long to protect. They were to be the next in a long siege
of
destruction that was intended to remove all but 1 of the original 22 gardens
up here.

These 3 gardens are Sunshine, Family Group, and Latinos Unidos. You may have
seen them last May on the big Critical Mass ride... you have been getting our
messages about them for a while.

So, come to Courtlandt Garden tomorrow for lunch and stay till dinner, and we
will give a rousing and rowdy THANKS for Aresh, Gabby, the lawyers, the AG's
office, the judge, and the unseen forces that were in the courtroom with us
this week and whispered green things into the judge's ears.

Also come for the fiesta on Sunday 12-6 in all of the 3 gardens. At 3 pm
there will be a speakout in Family Group (it's on 158, midblock between Park
and
Courtlandt).

Bring food and celebration, songs, fancy moves, fly clothes...

Courtlandt Garden, E. 158th between Melrose and Courtlandt,
the 3 saved gardens all on the same block around the corner (between 158th
and 159th, Courtlandt and Park)

take 2/5 to 149th and Grand Concourse and walk or bus up Melrose to 158th,
turn left.

or

take D/4 to 161st/Yankee Stadium and walk or bus across 161st to Courtlandt,
turn right.

See ya there.

JK
