Hello. Maybe suggesting (or doing) actual testing of the water, soil and plants would be the way to proceed. There are many challenges to be met in setting up an urban agriculture project. It is perfectly natural to suggest soil tests as a routine part of the process. (It's a routine part of the process here in Detroit.) Obviously, water sources must be considered as well. Is there any possibility of installing rain collection systems that would be adequate? By introducing these as routine issues to be considered, one might be able to avoid giving insult while still identifying potential problems. I'd be interested to know the degree to which rural agriculture is irrigated by water from polluted sources as well. Good luck,Judy from Detroit
