Hi, iiuc communityengine appears to mark user login names and email addresses as "taken" as soon as someone submits the signup form, rather than only being considered as taken once the user has actually confirmed they have access to the email address by clicking on an activation link that was sent to that email address.
I'm just wondering whether others consider this to be a problem and if so whether there is interest in a patch that addresses it.
