I am totally new to CE, but I've been on this list for months, having signed up because I was considering using it for my group. However, I've now been asked by another group to help them keep their current CE site, because the admin who is hosting it will end the service August 31st.
I've made sure my hosting company offers Ruby on Rails on my reseller account, and right now I'm waiting to hear back from the current admin/host about how to migrate their site to my server. But I wanted to go ahead and start the dialog here on what I'll need to do to make this happen. Any advice, suggestions, warnings or help at all would be much appreciated. I'm sorry if this topic is a well-covered one here- I did search the Google group archives for "migrate server" and variations, but didn't find anything that I recognized as applying to what I'm doing.
