With those kind of problems here's what I would do:
Reinstall 7.1.
Install Update 3.0.
Add Thread Manager 2.1 and Macintosh Drag and Drop 1.1 extensions. Do not
add any other parts of Drag Manager.
Install O.T. 1.1 (not 1.1.1)

The SE/30 has Color QuickDraw in ROM.
In TCP/IP 1.1.2 control panel options, set "Load only when needed" box to
unchecked.
Use "stable" WannaBe version 1.0b6.
