On the classic II and Plus that I've dismantled, the top ones were 
silver, and as they screwed into plastic were fairly widely-spaced in 
their threads - the lower ones were black and very fine and screwed into 
pre-threaded metal holes (I don't know the term, just what it looks 
like =).
