I've been trying to surf the web on my 4MB classic running 6.08. The
machine is connected to my 4400's modem connection via IPnet Router
and LocalTalk Bridge.
I thought Samba would be a good bet being text only, but it crashes
hard all the time especially if I close all the open browser windows.
Out of frustration / curiosity I upgraded to 7.1 thinking this would
make things more stable (I run Samba on an SE/30 with 7.1 very
successfully). Surprisingly it now crashes on launch, so I've given
up on it altogether - maybe it just doesn't work with a 68000
processor?
So far I've found NCSA Mosaic 103 to be the most stable / usable
browser on a Classic although System 7.1 seems to have halved the
speed.
Anyone know of any other browsers which work on a classic ?
