OK... there may not be too many 68K trained programmers running around anymore, but I've got an idea for a great project, if anyone thinks it can be done: I just picked up a Handspring Visor, and I was quickly struck by two things: The Palm Desktop software it uses on my PowerMac is the most awkward, awful piece of Mac programming I've seen in a LONG time... But I am also struck by the elegant simplicity of the little LCD screen, simple interface and wonderful B&W games and etc. on the Handspring itself... This little guy is just BEGGING for a Classic Mac software suite. HotSync your Palm PDA to your Compact Mac... Use the 68K Palm Desktop software (with an interface virtually identical to the actual Palm's software, rather than the overly complex mess they have for newer desktop machines)... AND, most intriguing to me... Run a PalmOS version of HyperCard. OMG, the Palm OS is just begging for HyperCard! Palm OS and Mac OS <7.5 is a match made in heaven! You can still get serial port adapters for the PDA cradles, so the physical technology shouldn't be too out of sync to make it work... Only problem is I don't know ANYTHING about programming... so maybe someone else will read this, get inspired and give me a free copy of their Compact Mac Palm Software Suite as a 'thank you' for the inspiration? :-) -Teresa -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
