Hi:
Just to add my 2� I have had a problem doing the same thing on certain SE's.
I have not been able to get the background to change no matter how much I
click on the minibackground. Someone on this list said to Option click,
tried it and it did not work. The background still remains locked on the
default pattern. It is only one of the SE's the rest that I have work fine.
I am not sure what OS is on this particular one, but I think it is 7.0-7.01?
