Dear Compact-Macs:

I have yet another problem with my old, tired Classic...Mom says that I
have too many computers:

An HP PAVILION,
A Toshiba Laptop,
A Trinity 486 PeeCee,
and MY MAC CLASSIC! <----This is what I want to get off my desk...NO! I
don't want to toss it or sell it, but rather Emulate it!

I have TRIED EVERYWHERE I can think of, and there is only ONE Mac classic
emulator (SoftMAC) I could find...I got the ROM to work, the System 6.0.8
Boot disk in, and got the start-up screen, and withOUT even looking at the
floppy, it gave me the "Disk with a question mark" icon...Why SoftMAC
doesn't look for my floppy, (the drive light doesn't come on--the emu never
even TRIES!) I will never know....I tried to create a boot image for the
emulator..No dice--still that dreaded disk icon, so I have given UP ON
SOFTMAC!

My question is WHERE in the world is another Macintosh Classic emu??? I
tried Basilisk II, OOPS! needs a 512K 68030 ROM-mine is a stupid 256K 68000
ROM--I tried using it anyway, and the error: "Classic emulation is
currently broken" appears!

Another emulator I tried is vMAC--OOPS! I need a 128K PLUS to use this
abomination!!! I can't get a Plus, our ONLY Apple Computer Dealer, "The
CORE," dissappeared! Yes, you heard me right, disappeared! The lights are
on, but nobodys home! The store has nothing in it but a few busted Macs and
papers! (too bad for those unfortunate macs! They could have been used for
my emu needs!--they were PowerMac G3s)...

Another hopeful Mac emu, FUSION PC for DOS, (using my 486) also needs a
512K 68030 ROM!!! I am starting to REALLY hate this classic!!! Why there is
well known emulator support for the older PLUS and not my CLASSIC is beyond
me! (Maybe you guys can answer that question!) And why the 68030-ONLY
support!?! Wasn't my Mac popular enough to make an emulator??? After all
there is an Apple III emu when that computer had design flaws + hardware
failures! That, too, is beyond me! I currently have successfully running
Apple ][e and ][gs emu's working on my laptop, why not my Mac??? I am at a
loss--The Internet is sooo big, isn't there another (FREE BTW-The only
others are shareware 30-day limits!) emulator I haven't tried that is
Classic Compatible??? Help!
