I've actually seen this work. Well, "work" is a relative term. 3.1 was 286 or better and could work in "protected" mode. 3.0 took 15-20 minutes to start on an 8088. The 8088 knew nothing besides "real" mode. "Standard" Mode is the same thing as "real" mode. There is no comparison between this and a Mac of the same vintage, even with MacOS 7.5.5. -- // A.
