I often see posts from people looking for something that is no longer on
a site.
You should try the web archive. These guys regularly archive the net.
Just type in the address and see what you find, eg. Apple has been
regularly archived since 1996 - here is Apple's site on Oct 26, 1996:

http://web.archive.org/web/19961022105458/http://www.apple.com/

Unfortunately the scripting doesn't always work and downloadable files
are missing, but the info is all there.

They have a heap of archives of lowendmac
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://lowendmac.com

They have even archived System 6 Heaven six times:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.euronet.nl/users/mvdk/system_6_heaven.
