Thanks Stuart, I guess it's been a couple of months since I'd last browsed through your site. I did recall that you were working on some kind of SE/30 grayscale project, but I had certainly overlooked the bit about the LC 475. I also heard from the seller, and he pretty much confirmed the details. The German site was quite informative (and Google translate works much better there then the Japanese site). So I picked up an SE earlier today ($3USD at a local disassembler ...lord only knows if anything in it works in it at all - it was missing the logic board, which at least makes it a guiltless hatchet project ...the chassis was all there and the case is pretty clean though) to use PRIOR to reading the German hacker's recommendation to use a Classic II core instead ...he apparently seemed to think it was more suitable. Any comments? He also seemed to be recommending the use of a "regular" 9" VGA display, instead of the internal CRT core: comments? Last ...I also came across a Japanese site (Nextro?) that appeared to have 10.5" TFT display in SE cases: can anyone point me to more information on that hack?
