> gary ...is there a efficient way to net-work my PPC7100 w/my COMPAQ

I think you're asking if they can talk to each other in a civil, useful
fashion? - For that, you need to be running NT Server on the Compaq, and you
need to add/turn on Macintosh services; this allows you to set up a folder
on the NT machine that the Mac can access (as if the Compaq were a Mac)
that you can use to easily transfer files back & forth between the
platforms. You'll need an ethernet card in the 7100 of course (I'm too lazy
to go and check whether it came with one). Other questions, ask me off-list.

> gary ... are there many,if any neat little apps i can run ...

Well, yes. Tons. Apps, games, whatever. All the older stuff will run just
fine on a 575. Try googling to Jag's House for a site with a bunch of
freebie apps to play with (though his orientation has the same general focus
as this list does - which, btw, is on "classic" macs, which generally means
those Macs using 68030 processors ...and rather less so, with a focus on
the b/w all-in-one Macs.

As to the rest of the stuff: the 575 and 7100 are served by their own niche
groups ...just look on Low End Mac, and join the right list. When a list is
as "busy" as this one, off-topic questions tend to be ignored (after all,
you wouldn't expect an answer to a question on HP Omnibook's on this list,
would you?), unless you become a very active, friendly participant in the
on-topic discussions.

...flame: off.
