When I got my second batch of compact Macs, I also bought several external hard drives, lots of SCSI terminators and cables, a printer, and a few LC III's. These items I had a pretty good idea of what I was buying.
One item that I'm fairly clueless about was a tape backup drive labelled 40SC. I assume it uses 40Meg tapes, but I also assume that there was more than one type of 40M tape made. Does anyone know what knid this device uses. I tried Applespec, but I couldn't find anything on this drive. That's not to say it's not there, just that I couldn't find it. My next stop from here is the Driver Museum website to see if they have anything pertaining to this drive. Aside from drivers, would any other software be needed to run this? If it helps, the case appears to be the same as the 20sc hard drive, with a slot for the tape to go in. This is probably all just a curiousity factor, as I have a Zip drive that I can use with this machine, and nearly all the software that's on it is already on the hard drive of my "real" computer, where it's all downloaded from. That said, I'd still like to see it running, just because it's there.
