Josh,
I haven't hecked out mac.com's mail facilities myself, but a couple of
possibles come to mind: do you save sent messages there? do you have a
bulk or junk mail filter there? do you have a trash folder there? is
your mail client set up to "keep/leave mail on server" or not set to
"delete mail from server when deleted locally"? Any of these conditions
could lead to exhausting your mailbox space quota, depending on how the
mail service is set up on the server end.
