The StyleWriter II is serial only. A Shiva NetSerial MAY work, it depends on how fast the serial connection is. NetSerials can't do all the things a Mac serial port can do but I don't off hand know the limitations. When I've used them it has always been fairly simple connections. As I recall the StyleWriters used a rather fast connection. The SW1500, 2400, 2500 (feels like I'm on one of the railroad lists now) have optional LocalTalk (or EtherTalk for the 1500 & 2500). The SW4100 through 6500 have some support for LocalTalk, they are relabeled HP DeskWriters / DeskJets with different ROMs, I think. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting [EMAIL PROTECTED] "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
