Thanks again, Clark, for the detailed response. AppleTalk over PhoneNet 
seems to be the way to go. Unfortunately, I cannot take you up on your 
generous offer of hardware support. Although at one time I could be found 
near the Rad Lab and People's Park, my locus now is generally found 
bobbling around between strange attractors in the upper Midwest.
