the accelerator could see the ram on the logic board and the
accelerators, but i doubt it would see the excess part of ram if you
simply put bigger simms in the se, it's just not set up to handle that.
needless to say, most of the se accelerator companies went out of
business and i'm awfully sure no one is making them now. best to scour
ebay etc. and ask list members if they've had experience with that
particular accelerators. you can also get an se/30 logic board and just
swap it out for the se logic board. i've done that myself when i
stumbled into some se/30 logic boards, to 3 machines in fact. with some
of se's you have to remove a little metal with tin snips as the early
ones had metal in the way of the power/vid connector on the se/30
boards, but it's very simple an easy. 3-4 years ago dealers were
selling se/30 boards for about $50, they are probably cheaper now, or
again check ebay. you can get great deals on ebay if you have the time
to search and don't get auction fever (i can't tell you how many
computer items i wanted on ebay got sold to fools for more than the new
price when it was used stuff with no warranty!)
