Which e-mail app will work with ZTerm ? >: - ) - Vern Andrews - - - - - Oregon Trail Descendant > Vern: There are different ways of connecting to the Internet. PPP is one way, using POP e-mail programs like Eudora, but there is another way called terminal emulation. ZTerm is a terminal emulator; that is, a communications software program used with Unix-based shell accounts which provide browsing through (usually) Lynx and e-mail and news via Pine. To use e-mail on ZTerm you have to have a Unix or AIX shell account with an Internet service provider who provides this type of service. (There are still some around, and, who knows, maybe in your area. You'd have to look for them.) You can have both PPP access and terminal emulation on your SE at the same time (at least I can on my Classic), but you have to keep them separate. When you go to use ZTerm, make sure that your PPP is switched off in the control panel Config PPP. For the complete skinny on all this, get yourself a copy of Adam Engst's Internet Starter Kit for Macintosh (published by Hayden Books). Copies of the third edition (1995) are still floating around... -- George Stacey 4250 40th Ave. N.W.
