Cool! What type of macs do you want the most? I live in Portland, so I could keep my eyes open at the local thrifts. johnsn
-----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Just to further the thread: my obsession with recycling macs has evolved over two years into a non profit (non profit means I have the IRS number and I pay for everything! I haven't the time to apply for grants. Wish I could quit my day job but it supports my non profit!). Over the last three years, I have placed over 1250 macintosh compters from the //gs on up to powermacs. The population I work with include: chidren in foster care, elders, folks who experience disabilities, women leaving domestically violent relationships, people transitioning from the State hospital to adult foster homes, rural hospitals/orphanages/schools in Guetemela, public and nont for profit schools, small non profits and to folks wanting to start their own businesses. It hase been tremendous fun. At my day job,I have a compact mac in my work cubicle (color classic) for kids to use/play with. Compact macs and the all in ones (520-580s) are great for kids living in foster care-the computer an travel wth them and it doesn't take up much room! Check out my web site to learn more about MacRenewal (and see some pictures of my grandkids in front of stacks 'o macs!).
