I inherited an SE and intend to use as a clock. Says "Superdrive" on it. Has one floppy disk drive; the top floppy port is blocked in and has a light that is off.
Previous owner says it has an internal Hard drive, but the drive won't boot, nor will it appear if I startup from the floppy. I downloaded the Plus/SE Clock (thank you, Gamba, it's excellent!) disk, and got it to work. However, the clock lost time over the weekend, when the machine was off. Questions: 1) Why did it lose time? Dead battery? 2) if battery, what kind of battery should I replace it with? The standard 3.6 volt? 3) What kind of HD can I replace it with? I have an Apple Quantum SCSI drive pulled from a Rev A G3 at home (4GB?). Would that work? Seems kind of overkill ... -- * * * * * * * Ken Zirkel [EMAIL PROTECTED] Somewhere in Maine web site: http://www.zirkel.com AIM: lekriz -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
